Once Again, Maryland Makes the U.S. News Grade

College Park, Md. - For the eighth consecutive year, the University of Maryland, College Park, has been recognized in the U.S. News and World Report rankings under “Academic Programs to Look For”. The University appeared under the categories of “First Year Experience”, "Internships/Co-ops", “Undergraduate Research/Creative Projects”, “Learning Communities”, and “Service Learning”.
“Rankings reflect how others view us. Being included in U.S. News's list of ‘programs to look for,’ validates all the hard work and dedication of the Scholars faculty and staff, and the truly significant accomplishments of our students,” Greig Stewart, Executive Director, said.
College Park Scholars is a multi-disciplinary living and learning community that welcomes academically talented freshmen and sophomores into its resident halls and classrooms every year with the intention of fostering in them civic-mindedness, a commitment to academia and a quest for creativity. This program readies students academically for competitive research opportunities and competitive internships and it strives to provide them with opportunities to partake in public service, civic engagement and team projects.
