Environmental Studies Unveils its New Identity
January 28, 2009
With new ways of learning and knowing about the environment, and in light of many emerging issues of concern to undergraduates, the Environmental Studies faculty have decided to change the name of the program from Environmental Studies to Environment, Technology, and Economy.
To emphasize the multi-disciplinarity of sustainability as a core concept underlying the study of the environment, the new name better reflects the content of recent and future classroom content, discussions and activities. The change to Environment, Technology and Economy (ETE) will be effective this spring, 2009.
