December Graduating Scholars Initiated into Phi Beta Kappa

College Park, Md. Three College Park Scholars were selected for the Gamma-of-Maryland Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Organized in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most widely respected academic honor society in the United States . Invitation to membership is based on outstanding scholastic achievement in studies of the liberal arts and sciences. The Maryland Chapter was established in 1964.

Congratulations go to the following December graduating seniors:

Julia Grubman received her Scholars citation in American cultures in 2006. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies. A 2002 graduate of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, Julia is the daughter of Stewart and Catherine Grubman, of Chevy Chase, Md.

Ryan Schmidt received his Scholars citation in Life Sciences in 2006. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences. A 2004 graduate of Collingswood Senior High School, Ryan is the son of Dulcie and Richard Schmidt, of Collingswood, NJ.

Aagosh Mathur received his Scholars citation in Business, Society and the Economy in 2006. He is graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. A 2004 graduate of Arundel Senior High School, Aagosh is the son of Praneet and Usha Mathur, of Crofton, Md.
