Scholars Kick Off Semester with Annual Day of Service

Public Leadership Scholars remove a tire from the mud at Bladensburg Waterfront Park during College Park Scholars Service Day.
Freshmen entering the College Park Scholars program will begin their experience with a day of service in Maryland and Washington, D.C. on Thursday, August 28.

Marilee Lindemann begins as Executive Director of College Park Scholars July 1.
Marilee Lindemann will begin her role as executive director of College Park Scholars, effective July 1. Lindemann joins Scholars as an associate professor of English and the founding director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies Program in the Office of Undergraduate Studies.

First Annual Scholars Cup Raises $4300 for Children’s Charities

Public Leadership wins the 17th Annual “Step Up to Bat for Kids” Charity Softball tournament on May 10.
College Park Scholars students and alumni raised more than $4,300 for twelve children’s charities during the first annual student-run Scholars Cup.
