The majority of the College Park Scholars Arts Program students are housed in Bel Air Hall. Bel Air Hall was built in 1962 and named for the city of Bel Air, located in Harford County, Maryland. Bel Air is a co-educational residence hall, which is part of a five-building area, called the Cambridge Community. Cambridge, along with two other Communities, make up the North Campus Community. Being a traditional hall and part of a larger community makes Bel Air a very easy place to meet other students. Bel Air is comprised of four floors. Most dorm rooms in Bel Air are doubles. However, due to an increased number of enrolled, a number of doubles have been converted to triples and quads temporarily. Two singles reside on the second floor. Floors two, three, and four each contain two large community bathrooms. The first floor is made up of six dorm rooms, a smaller accommodating bathroom, a study lounge/kitchen, a social lounge, and the College Park Scholars in the Arts office. The idea of community is further fostered by the Resident Staff who live in the building. Bel Air has a Resident Assistant (RA) on the second, third, and fourth floor, and a full-time Resident Director (RD). The Resident Staff are responsible for management of the resident halls, and for cultural, social, educational, and recreational programming. Residents can aid the Staff in programming and become involved in their living environment through the Bel Air Hall Council.
To ensure the safety of residents in Bel Air, the building remains locked at all times. Residents must use a key individual to their building to enter the building and to access the stairwells. In addition, Residential Facilities provides a team of Security Staff who work from dusk till dawn inspecting each of the residence halls insuring locked doors and the overall safety of the buildings.

Bel
Air is adjacent to Cumberland Hall, which has a 24-hour Service Desk
located by the front entrance. The Service Desk is run by Community
Assistants (CAs) and serves as a center for information about student
phone numbers, University Resources, and is the place to borrow keys
if locked out, and the place to pick up mail. A Customer Service Supervisor
(CSS) is in charge of ensuring that the service desk is providing
the best possible customer service to the residents.
