The College Park Scholars in the Arts Program goes on eight field trips a year. During the 2006-2007 school year, we went to see Cabaret at the Arena Stage, A Midsummer Nights Dream at the Folger Shakespeare Theater, The Once and Future Life of Billie Holiday at the Kennedy Center, the ballet of Edward Scissorhands at the Kennedy Center, Richard III at the Shakespeare Theater , and Savion Glover and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at the Strathmore Music Hall. Additionally, we stayed over night in Philadelphia and saw La Boheme at the Academy of Music and toured the Kimmel Center and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Our big field trip is a weekend in New York City, where we saw two Broadway shows: Company and Avenue Q and we also visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
