CPSP 259C: Advocacy and Child Policy (1 credit)

CPSP 318C: Capstone: Advocacy in Action (3 credits) choice of one of the following sections:

  • Community Leadership: This course considers the role and responsibility of leadership in advocacy and social justice. Students will critically examine traditional leadership theories and explore alternate leadership models that are conducive to advocacy and social justice work. Upon course completion, students will have a sense of their personal leadership philosophy, and an understanding of how leadership influences the process of social change.

  • Community-Based Research: Community Based Discovery research involves a partnership between students, faculty, and community members working collaboratively to construct knowledge through research in order to address an important community problem and to effect social change. This course is designed to give you the opportunity to answer a significant research question through collection and analysis of primary and secondary data. Scholars will engage in a research project as a team or individually with various community agencies
